Test one app for 14 days. Leave your email, we do the rest.
We make free, offline-first apps for working seafarers.
Google Play will not let us publish until real testers have used an
app for two weeks — not just installed it. Pick the one you would actually
open at sea, use it a few times, and tell us what is wrong.
What you get: 3,000 community points (about USD 23) on day 15 —
enough for DG Pro, SDM Pro, MSI Pro or the SJW Pro pack, or for documents
and routes other officers sell in the market. What we ask: one app, open it a few times over 14 days, don't
opt out before day 15. That is the whole favour — no reports, no forms.
You get two emails from us in total: the link on day 0, and “you're done”
on day 15 (points land automatically if the app saw you sign in; if not,
that email says how to claim them with one reply).
1Leave the Google account email your phone uses
That is the address Google Play needs to
let you into the test. You get a welcome email right away with your two
links — one tap to join the list, one tap to “Become a tester”. We
use the address for nothing else.
What happens to what you type here
Collected: your email, country, and the optional rank note
Used for: adding you to the Google Play closed-test list,
and contacting you about the test and your reward
Shared with: Google, only your email, and only because Play
needs it to let you into the test
Kept until: the test ends or you ask us to delete it —
whichever comes first. Write to [email protected] any time
and it is gone
You can say no. Then we simply cannot add you to the test — there
is no other consequence
In a hurry and already signed in to Google on this phone?
Send
the pre-filled subscribe email or open
the group page and tap Join group — that puts you on
the list within minutes without waiting for us. (Email route: Google answers
with a “Confirm your subscription” mail — reply to it, any text, and you are in.)
2Pick your app and tap “Become a tester”
One app is enough. Open the link on the
same phone. If Play says “not available” for the first few minutes, that is
just the list syncing — try again after a short wait, then install.
Run the squat calculator with your own ship's draft and speed.
Try any second calculator you use on watch (ETA, UKC, tides…).
Scan one page of any document with the OCR tool.

New here? The full tester guide — what to do on day 1, days 2–14,
how to reply, how the points work — is one page:
Tester guide, step by step →
Tell us what broke
Once a week the group gets a short email with
that week's task. Reply to it with one line or a screenshot — “this
button did nothing”, “this number looks wrong”, “I could not find X”.
Anything counts.
Every note gets a number and shows up in the next
update's release notes as “tester note #n”, so you can see it was
fixed. Prefer email? [email protected]
works the same way.
Google counts 14 consecutive days. If you opt out in the middle,
your days start over — so please stay in until day 15 even if you only
open the app a few times. On day 15 we email you once more and the points
are yours.
All four apps are free to install, with no ads and no
tracking SDK — the core tools work without paying. Some advanced features
are optional paid unlocks (Pro packs), which is what your reward points can
cover. Your vessel data, imported files and drawings stay on your device;
for Ship Drawing Map there is no server path for them at all.
